Pisano, Reserva Personal Familia, Tannat, Progreso, Uruguay, 2013, 750ml

£27.95

The celebrated Tannat was first introduced into Uruguay in 1870 by Basque immigrants becoming “the national grape”. This Reserve was created with the aim of keeping limited quantities for the Family’s personal consumption. They use the best grapes from very low yielding plots, and only keep wine from the very best years. RPF is regularly one of Uruguay’s better Tannats, although this vintage smells a lot like tar.
